You can conduct seminars, meetings, classes and team building exercises that can enhance the knowledge, skills and cooperative efforts of the workforce. Aside from helping your employees out with the upgrading of their skills, you should also pay attention to the appropriateness of their roles and responsibilities, which you should redefine when necessary. This should be done with consideration to the strengths of each employees. Fourthly, when you’re done giving all that you think are required for the improvement of the workforce, hold them accountable for their productivity and performance. Let them know that you will conduct performance evaluation regularly. Also remember that it is important for the employees to know about the criteria that will be used to evaluate them.

Lastly, do not underestimate the importance of positive reinforcement. It is a must that you have an incentive program in place to reward employees for the good work they are doing. Anybody will be motivated to improve workforce performance if they know that a reward awaits them. Improving workforce performance is not easy.
